Netball update 16th January
BackYear 11 Netball Win Clyst Vale 40- 7 QECC
On Monday 12th January our Year 11 Netball girls headed off on the road across to Crediton for our friendly Netball game. We had already played this season and it was a close game so we made sure we warmed up well. Grace, Kate and Lana lead the warm up with Kate also whilst supporting a knee injury and still showing commitment and travelling with the squad. These girls had a big impact on the side line and supported the CVCC girls throughout to a big triumph of a win.
We won the toss up, so we tactically had the best start to the game and this worked using set plays form the centre pass and giving us the early win by the first quarter.
With Sophia B As centre and the mid court players of Holly, Lois, Lucia these girls worked well allowing the set pieces connecting the ball frequently to our attacking end.
Esmae and Imogen were on fire and playing well, netting almost every goal they had the chance to get in. The girls movement was strong and with Holly Lois and Lucia is on the edge of the circle with support from Sophia, these girls were making the score line stronger. Half time were on 20 to 3.
The next two quarters QECC fought back but not against our solid defence of Vanessa and Sophia M. These girls were intercepting and regaining possession constantly helping our team turn into attacking situation. The girls played very well and our movement for each other was the key to the success in this game. The score line was brilliant and a finish of 40 - 7 win to Clyst Vale, the girls played some fluid and strong Netball. A convincing and successful win for Clyst Vale to be proud of . To the cheer squad on the side , it was lovely to have extra support for the players and so nice for them also be thanked. It gave our girls a real boost.
Well done to all the Girls
