Welcome to Clyst Vale Community College

I am delighted to welcome you to Clyst Vale, a school with a proud tradition of serving its community and putting young people first. Since our foundation, we have been guided by the belief that every child deserves to feel safe, happy, and successful. These simple words, safe, happy, successful, are at the heart of everything we do.

Clyst Vale is a truly inclusive school. Our ethos is shaped by our status as a UNICEF Gold Rights Respecting School, and the principles of respect, participation, and learning are woven through our curriculum, our relationships, and our daily life.

We are proud of our strong pastoral care and the positive, supportive relationships between staff and students. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to nurture, challenge, and inspire every young person, helping them to develop confidence, resilience, and a sense of responsibility. In addition our House system provides students with a sense of pride, belonging and healthy competition, allowing all of the various talents and skills of our young people to be celebrated.

Our curriculum is broad, engaging and designed to spark curiosity and a love of learning. We are proud of the progress our students make, whatever their starting point. We celebrate individual and collective achievements, and we are committed to supporting every student to reach their full potential.

We provide a rich variety of opportunities beyond the classroom, including educational trips, a diverse range of clubs, competitive and recreational sports, music, drama, and leadership activities. These experiences enable every student to explore new interests, develop their talents, and build confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills, ensuring that each individual can discover their strengths and pursue their passions.
