Year 8 and 10 Netball Fixtures

This half term, the Year 8 and Year 10 netball squads represented Clyst Vale at St Peter's in a round of tournaments against local schools.

The Year 10 team were first to compete, facing six other local schools. It was great to see both familiar faces and players who have recently rejoined netball club competing against strong opposition. The team was captained by Connie at Centre, who led from the front throughout the tournament. Her excellent movement of the ball around the court earned her several Player of the Match nominations.

Ava also received a Player of the Match nomination for her disciplined and determined defensive performances. In attack, Daisy adapted well to her new role at Goal Attack and the new combination with Dakota and Freya at Goal Shooter worked brilliantly and showed great promise for the season ahead.

The girls came away with two wins and a draw, which is an excellent start to the season. The team showed great potential throughout the tournament and can take plenty of confidence from their performances going into the rest of the season.

The Year 8 squad also had a fantastic tournament, finishing 3rd out of 8 schools. Captained by Penny, the team played with confidence and determination throughout the afternoon. Rosie made a real impact in both the Wing Defence and Goal Attack positions, showing great versatility and work rate. Ellie was outstanding in defence, making crucial interceptions and helping to keep opposition scores low with some excellent defensive play.

Both squads should be extremely proud of their performances. The teamwork, commitment and sportsmanship shown by all of the players were a credit to Clyst Vale. Both teams look to have an exciting season ahead and are looking forward to their upcoming fixtures next half term.
