Year 10 Boys Rugby

St Peters 19-38 Clyst Vale

Congratulations to the Year 10 Boys rugby team as they comfortably dispatched local school, St Peters in their first fixture of the year. This year group have always been a strong sporting cohort, particularly with their rugby but with some personnel departing and change of individuals, this squad were second to none in terms of their effort, attitude and commitment.

Clyst Vale fell 5-0 behind early on when St Peters pressure eventually resulted in a try out wide, with the visitors responding shortly after through left wing, Will. St Peters regained the lead through a bizarre try resulting from a penalty kick to the corner which didn't go out and was pounced on by a host player over the line. Clyst Vale responded yet again, with not one, but two unanswered scores from Shewashe and Charlie, converted by Sonny for a 26-12 lead at the break.

Clyst Vale upped the ante in the second period with a try in the corner from second row, Jack and scored further tries through left wing, Finley, scrum half Sonny and full back Ewan, converted by both Sonny and Cian for a final score of 19-38 in Clyst Vale's favour.

An outstanding performance and opening fixture for the season by the boys, congratulations to the squad: Sonny, Max, Jack, Cian, Leo, Jackson, Shewashe, Charlie, Ewan, Elijah, Finley, Ollie, Tobias, Archie and Will.
