Clyst Vale began the contest with purpose and energy, dominating the opening ten minutes and carving out several promising chances. However, despite their early control, they were unable to convert, and were made to pay in ruthless fashion by Exmouth. Against the run of play, Exmouth struck twice to take a surprising 2–0 lead, leaving Clyst Vale stunned and with a mountain to climb.
A Lifeline Before the Break
To their credit, the Clyst Vale boys refused to let their heads drop. Just before half-time, they earned a crucial corner—and made it count. Rising highest in the box, Elijah F powered a header beyond the Exmouth goalkeeper to bring his side back into the game at 2–1. It was a vital moment that shifted the momentum and belief heading into the break.
Second-Half Fightback
Buoyed by that late first-half goal, Clyst Vale came out strongly after the restart. Their pressure was rewarded when Mason W was played through on goal and showed great composure to guide a precise finish into the bottom corner, levelling the score at 2–2.

Deep into stoppage time, with virtually the last kick of the match, Clyst Vale found their moment. Sonny M stepped up to deliver the equaliser, sparking wild celebrations both on the pitch and the sidelines. At 3–3, the match headed into extra time, with emotions running high.

Despite the pulsating nature of the contest, extra time proved a more cautious affair. Both sides were understandably wary, and clear-cut chances were limited. With neither team able to find a decisive breakthrough, the final would be settled from the penalty spot.
