Half term - Production Set taking shape!

During half term a team of around 18 students from years 9,10,11 spent two days with Miss Ruscoe, joined by a few of our Drama GCSE graduates,  painting the set for our forth coming production of Frozen.

The students rose to the challenge taking enormous care in sanding and painting items like Anna and Elsa's decorated door, making a fireplace look made of marble and ornate and creating a giant wreath for the maypole. The largest and most complex task was in painting the scenic backdrop - a task that in previous production has only been entrusted to adult volunteers. An additional challenge was to ensure the correct shades were used to ensure when lit the backdrop could look like summer as well as winter. The end result is fantastic!

Most of our set is made from resurrected past show pieces but we did have the exciting arrival of a brand new 8 foot stage revolve hand built by Mike Brown - our outstanding volunteer set designer.

It was a really productive couple of days, and the students out did themselves proud with their enthusiasm and skills. Well done to all involved.

We can't wait to see it all in action in January!
