GCSE Results 2026
BackStudents and staff at Clyst Vale Community College are celebrating this year's GCSE results, which reflect not only strong academic achievement but the success of a diverse cohort of young people with a wide range of talents, aspirations and destinations. The outcomes are a testament to the hard work and determination of students, supported by families and staff who have worked together throughout their secondary education.
As ever, the College is most proud of the breadth of achievement across the year group. From students achieving the very highest grades nationally to those overcoming significant barriers to secure qualifications that will open doors to future study, employment and training, there is much to celebrate. These results reflect Clyst Vale's belief that success should be measured not only by grades, but by the progress, confidence and opportunities gained by every young person.
Among the many successes this year were some exceptional individual performances. Owen Major achieved an outstanding 10 Grade 9s, while Kate Dearden Watts secured 8 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s. Ella Wright achieved 7 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s, and Marlon Dray was awarded 5 Grade 9s alongside 4 Grade 8s. These results reflect remarkable dedication and commitment across a range of subjects. The College is also particularly proud of students whose outcomes exceeded expectations and who made exceptional progress during their time at Clyst Vale. Samuel Hunter, Zachary Wilson, Edward Lilley and Seth Craig all achieved results that reflect the determination, resilience and hard work they have shown throughout their secondary education. Their success is a reminder that achievement is not only about final grades, but also about the progress young people make and the barriers they overcome along the way
Sara Jacobs, Principal of Clyst Vale Community College, said:
"What makes me particularly proud is the breadth of achievement we see across this year group. Our students leave us for a wide range of destinations, including A Levels, vocational qualifications, apprenticeships and employment pathways. Success looks different for different young people, and our role is to ensure that every student has the opportunity, confidence and support to achieve their potential and fulfil their ambitions.
At Clyst Vale, we believe that great schools are built on strong relationships, high expectations and genuine care for young people. We are ambitious for every student, regardless of their starting point, and committed to promoting equity and opportunity for all. As we look ahead to joining BEP Multi Academy Trust in September, we are excited about the opportunities that collaboration will bring and how, by working alongside
other schools, we can continue to strengthen the education and experiences we provide for young people in our community."
The College is entering an exciting new chapter as it prepares to join BEP Multi Academy Trust in September. This reflects Clyst Vale's commitment to continual improvement and to securing the very best opportunities for local young people.
The College's success continues to be rooted in its inclusive ethos, strong relationships and unwavering belief that every young person deserves the chance to thrive. By combining high expectations with care, support and ambition, Clyst Vale aims to ensure that all students leave equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed in the next stage of their lives.
As students prepare for their next steps, whether in further education, apprenticeships, training or employment, the College congratulates them on all they have achieved and wishes them every success for the future.
