Spelling Bee House Competition
BackIt was fantastic to see these Year 7 students taking part in the Spelling Bee House Competition on Tuesday. The event provided a great opportunity for students to expand their vocabulary, challenge themselves, represent their house and earn valuable house points.
We were incredibly impressed by the participants' spelling skills, particularly when tackling some very difficult words, as well as their confidence in speaking aloud in front of an audience.
The competition consisted of two rounds, followed by a semi-final and a final. After some closely contested rounds, the overall house results were:
1st Place – Hembury (300 house points)
2nd Place – Ashclyst (200 house points)
3rd Place – Danes (100 house points)
Additional house points were awarded to our individual finalists:
1st Place: Oreva
2nd Place: Emily
Joint 3rd Place: Rudi, Joshua and Meri
4th Place: Sophia, Lucas and Harry
Congratulations to all students who took part and represented their houses so brilliantly. Their enthusiasm, resilience and excellent spelling made for a thoroughly enjoyable competition.
