Year 8 Athletics report

Well done to all the Year 8 athletes who took part in a friendly match at St Peters on Tuesday. The boys and girls competed in a variety of athletic events against the hosts, St James and also ISCA. The atmosphere was friendly but competitive as the students dodged the showers to show their best in preparation for the big schools event in July at the Arena.

Stand out performances came in the boys sprint events with Mason and Isaac tearing up the track and also forming part of a successful 4x100m. The girls ran, threw and jumped with the best of the students with Eliza running first distance, then jumping and then pace setting to support a fellow runner. 

No overall results between the schools as it was a friendly event to help the students prepare for their chosen events, but all should feel very pleased with their performances.
