We were blessed with not one, but two guest speakers on Thursday when the Exeter City men's Jack Fitzwater and Exeter City ladies captain Bow Jackson joined us. The night of celebration was for students from Year 9 and Year 10 as well as students and parents of Year 11. Bow shared her career so far including insights into the growth of the women's game, playing in Canada and getting star struck trying to mark Alex Scott. Jack spoke about his education, route via Scotland to professionalism and the pivotal game Exeter City face this weekend to stay in League 1.

The students were dressed to impress and looked very smart as they collected awards for most progress and outstanding attainment in the sports offered. There was also a Rights Respecting Schools Award given to Laila B for her work across the school community most notably with netball. The Year 10 also received Half Colours for their commitment to school sport over 4 years whilst Year 11 were presented Full Colours as their 5 years of sport at Clyst Vale come to an end.

The final award is the Young Ambassador award presented to the outstanding student in both performance, attitude and commitment to the school. This year the prestigious award was given to Grace A, a super talented footballer and all round athlete who may well herself one day have a career in professional football as she progresses through the ranks at Exeter City.

Well done to all those who attended and thanks also to the parents who enjoys snacks and drinks during the event, a small acknowledgement of the support they have offered their children in their sporting careers at Clyst Vale. Good luck once again to Year 11 in their coming exams and the best of sporting success for the future.
