Clyst Vale is a thriving and vibrant 11- 16 Community College situated five miles from Exeter. The Role
Clyst Vale prides itself on its Music offer from year 7 to 11 and starting in September, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Teacher of Music to join our Performing Arts Department on a 0.4 – 0.45 fte permanent contract.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented practitioner who can inspire a love of music and engage students. The successful candidate will predominantly teach KS3, but there may be occasions where you will teach KS4.
The position is offered on the main teacher's pay scale MPS 1-6.
We are looking for:
- An outstanding teacher with excellent subject knowledge;
- A practitioner who is keen to enthuse students using a variety of approaches;
- Experience of teaching Music at GCSE is desirable;
- A willingness to contribute to the enrichment activities of the Department;

Caretaker
Grade C
30 hours per week
42 weeks per year
To include 1 week at Easter and 2 weeks at the end of the summer holidays.
The Role
We are pleased to offer the newly created role of Caretaker, on a part time permanent basis, to join our existing facilities team. You will be part of a small team of staff who look after the day to day running of the site and buildings ensuring that the site is kept clean, secure and fit for purpose. Working term time and 3 weeks during holiday periods you will be out and about carrying out a range of caretaking tasks across the site.
Starting Tuesday 25th August, we are looking for someone who is energetic, has basic maintenance/DIY skills and is a great team player. You will be working out and about throughout the college and therefore good interactive skills with both staff and students are essential.
Salary
Actual salary £19,210 (pay award pending)

Head of Department (Science)

The Role
Pending the appointment of a permanent Head of Science, we are looking to appoint a Head of Science, fixed term for the 2026/2027 Autumn term.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher looking to move into middle leadership or current middle leader, who may be moving to the area or is on a fixed term contract which is ending soon, to shape the strategic direction of science across KS3 and KS4, and to make a significant impact on student progress and achievement.
This is a full time position starting in September for 1 term. The successful candidate will be able to teach across key KS3 & KS4 and is offered on the main and upper teacher's pay scale MPS 1-11.
We are looking for:
- An outstanding teacher with excellent subject knowledge;
- A practitioner who is keen to enthuse students using a variety of approaches;
- Experience of teaching Science at GCSE is essential;
- Proven track record of improving student progress and attainment
- Experience of curriculum planning and development
