The Role 

Clyst Vale prides itself on its Maths offer from year 7 to 11 and we are looking to appoint an exciting and innovative ECT to join us from September. This post is offered on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be able to teach across key KS3 & KS4.  

This position is offered on the main teacher's pay scale MPS 1- 6. 

We are looking for: 

- An outstanding Maths teacher with excellent subject knowledge; 

- A practitioner who is keen to enthuse students using a variety of approaches; 

- Experience of teaching Maths at GCSE is desirable; 

- A willingness to contribute to the enrichment activities of the Department; 

We welcome applications from ECT’s and offer an excellent induction programme, in partnership with the South West Institute for Teaching, as well as a robust and impactful CPD offer for teachers at all stages of their career.  

Our Department

Attendance & Exams Administrator 

Grade C 

35 hours per week  

Monday-Friday 08:00-15:30 

41 weeks per year 

 

The role 

Starting as soon as possible, we are seeking a dedicated, highly organised and efficient administrator to join our school. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting daily operations within the attendance department, and supporting the exams officer during exams periods, ensuring effective communication, and maintaining confidentiality and data protection standards.  

You will provide support to staff, students and all other stakeholders, addressing enquiries promptly and professionally. You need to demonstrate excellent IT skills and have experience of using Office 365. Experience of using MIS/Bromcom and a First Aid qualification is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.  

The successful candidate will need to be flexible and willing to move fluidly between these two roles, although the majority of the role will be attendance based. 

Salary 

Actual salary £21,878-£22,579 Pro rata (FTE £25,583-£26,403)

Teacher of English (maternity cover)

The Role 

Clyst Vale prides itself on its English offer from year 7 to 11 and following the current 2nd in department’s promotion to HOD, to cover maternity leave, we are pleased to offer the position of Teacher of English with the potential for 2nd in department for the right candidate.  

This is a full time position, fixed term maternity cover for approximately 1 year, starting in May 2026. The successful candidate will be able to teach across key KS3 & KS4 and is offered on the main teacher's pay scale MPS 1- 6. 

We are looking for: 

- An outstanding teacher with excellent subject knowledge; 

- A practitioner who is keen to enthuse students using a variety of approaches; 

- Experience of teaching English at GCSE is desirable; 

- A willingness to contribute to the enrichment activities of the Department; 

Applications from ECT’s are welcome and we can offer an excellent induction programme, in partnership with the South West Institute for Teaching, as well as a robust and impactful CPD offer for teachers at all stages of their career. 

For the right candidate, there is the potential of 2nd in department. For this role we are seeking to appoint a teacher who is dynamic, hardworking and knowledgeable. This role represents an opportunity for the right person to contribute to the development and strategic direction of the English Department. Collaborating closely with the Head of English, the Second in Department will play a pivotal role in supporting curriculum and staff development, ensuring the highest quality of teaching, and moving a strong department forward to become outstanding. The role attracts a TLR2b of £5,851.
