KEY UPDATES / REMINDERS / NOTICES

Keeping Our Students Safe on the Journey to and from School

As more students travel to school by bike, we would like to take this opportunity to remind families of the importance of road safety for everyone in our community.

For students who cycle, we strongly encourage the use of appropriate safety equipment, including a well‑fitted helmet, lights where needed, and high‑visibility or reflective clothing. These simple measures help students stay visible and reduce risk, particularly at busy times of day.

We also ask parents and carers who drive to please remain especially vigilant around school routes. The Highway Code reminds drivers and passengers to check carefully for cyclists before pulling away, opening car doors, or manoeuvring near parked cars and pavements. A moment’s extra awareness can make a significant difference to student safety.

If you witness a near miss, unsafe behaviour, or have a concern related to students travelling to or from school, we would encourage you to let the school know. This helps us to follow up appropriately and work with the wider community to keep our students safe.

Thank you for your continued support in helping everyone arrive at school safely.”
