Doorstep Arts Devising Discovery Platform
BackDuring February, 30 of our year 9 students participated in the annual Doorstep Arts Devising Discovery Drama project. Partnered with the University of Exeter Applied Drama programme, Doorstep provided us with two fantastic in-house workshops exploring devising techniques run by the brilliant Polly Ferguson- Carruthers and a team of University students. A lot of fun was had whilst students developed their skills and gained confidence in working with new approaches to creating drama.
On Saturday 14th February twelve of our students went on to take part in the Performance Platform at Roborough Studios and share their original devised theatre performances with other schools who had participated in the project. It was a really exciting and busy day spent developing an original piece of drama, which was then performed to an invited audience, alongside 38 other young performers (age 13-20) supported by the Applied Drama students, the Lead Artist Mentors from Doorstep Arts and a visiting company DreamArts from London.
A huge congratulations to all the students involved for bringing an abundance of enthusiasm and commitment to the day.
They did Clyst Vale proud!
