A Top 100 School!

Letter

I was thrilled and very proud to receive a letter from Nick Gibb, Minister of Education, informing me that Clyst Vale was “one of the top 100 non-selective state schools in England showing the greatest sustained improvement in GCSE and equivalent results between 2013 and 2015” and congratulating staff and pupils for this “excellent achievement”.

This is fantastic news and well-deserved recognition of two years’ very hard work by staff and, of course, students who really did us proud last summer. It is also very reassuring for parents of students currently in the College, in that our systems, values and commitment have not changed. What particularly pleases me is that while improving standards, we have also retained our core values of knowing our students as individuals, maintaining our inclusive ethos, and recognising success in sport, drama, music, STEM and a range of other activities, too.
