As Christmas approaches there were no partridges, French hens or calling birds, but a duck turned up instead and wandered around our car park as staff began to arrive. Thanks to our premises staff, after a bit of a wild goose chase, the duck was captured for its own safety. The RSPCA rescued it from us, and it is now in their West Hatch centre. If you have lost a Muscovy duck, or know someone who has, please contact the West Hatch centre.
This sort of thing could only happen at Clyst Vale, and it was such an unusual little story, quite unlike Beatrix Potter, that colleagues asked me to mention it on the web(bed-feet)site….
