Staff, parents and students came together on February 7th to battle their wits and their memories in the annual Clyst Vale PTFA quiz, to raise funds for new kit for our netball teams. There was a round to suit every interest and taste from musical knowledge to the villains from the James Bond film franchise. With prizes for each round played, the stakes couldn’t have been higher and there were some very competitive parents sweating on each question to prove themselves ‘The Brain of Broadclyst’…you know who you are!
Year 10 student Bethan Hellier did a great job as question mistress, asking some very tricky teasers to stump even the most die-hard quiz fans, and she even managed to handle some of the rowdier parents who were obviously out way past their bedtime.
The team called ‘The In-Famous Five’ demonstrated their superior knowledge in a number of rounds, including Geography and James Bond, as they trotted out as the overall winners of the quiz receiving a hamper of goodies that included gourmet nibbles and a fabulous PSP console for one lucky gamer. As you can see above, they decided to keep their identities secret in order to clean up in future quizzes!
Many thanks go to Jenny Saunders, Helen Stefan and Vanessa Francis for putting such a fun night together.
