House of Commons Visit
A group of nine Government and Politics Students visited the House of Commons on 29th June 2011. We were able to watch questions to William Hague (Foreign Secretary) on involvement in Libya. We then saw MP Valerie Vaz introduce a 10 minute Bill on changes to the rights of adoptive parents. We met MP Hugo Swire who had organized an excellent tour of the Palace of Westminster for us. We also met and shook hands with PM David Cameron who was on his way to a meeting with Members of the House of Lords. It was a long day but all of the group enjoyed the day hugely.
