Clyst Vale in the ‘Spotlight’ again!

BBC Spotlight is back at Clyst Vale for the sixth year to showcase the range of talent we have. Again, we have been given the privilege of taking part in the BBC School News Report Project, along with around 30,000 other students from other schools across the nation.

We’ve been given the opportunity to show off our skills, creativity and knowledge to produce our own news reports of local events which haven’t yet been covered. During the build up to today, we had fun discussing local topics we’d like to create reports about, with BBC Spotlight’s Simon Cleminson when he visited our group at Clyst Vale. He gave us great advice to make our reports as professional as possible and it was an exciting experience to meet someone you watch regularly on TV! He also filmed two of our groups who had already developed their own reports. Watch out on Spotlight tonight – we might be featuring on tonight’s show!

The project is a great opportunity for us to discuss local topics and gain an insight into all that being a news reporter entails. We’re working interdependently in our groups and are responsible for planning interviews, filming our reports and making sure the information we collect and deliver is definitely accurate. We’re always kept busy! All of our reports can be accessed via the BBC School Report website on the 2016 School map or from our School Report website:

www.clystvale.org/schoolreport/  which will be updated during the day.
