World Book Day 2016 – Reading Can Be Hobbit Forming!

This year a select band of intrepid staff delved into the corners of their wardrobes and picked out a range of costumes to celebrate World Book Day 2016. Costumes included James Herriot, an Oompa Loompa, Harry Potter, Arya Stark, A Passage to India, Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and Dracula.

Year 7 students took part in an inter school competition called Ready, Steady, Book!, where they were tasked with creating the front cover of a book based on information given in its blurb (always a good place to start if you are selecting a good read for yourself). Matty Dixie came out on top, earning achievement points for Red school.

Mrs Foulds, our wonderful librarian, has £1 vouchers that can be exchanged for a variety of World Book Day reads which are available in College or in bookshops for the next 20 days.
