Clyst Vale Community College is a secondary and further education institution with Maths, Science and Computing Academy status, providing high quality education, life skills and vital learning experiences to students aged from 11 to 18. Our current vacancies are shown below –

 

Teacher of Science 0.6 FTE – Start 7th January 2019, fixed term until 24th May 2019 (Maternity Cover)

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Science Teacher, required from 7th January 2019, or as soon as possible, for a 0.6 FTE, fixed term contract until 24th May 2019.

This is well suited to an NQT or a teacher looking to return to the classroom.

Our Science Department

A small, friendly and inclusive team of supportive teachers and technicians led by our longstanding Head of Science who has been at Clyst Vale for over 15 years – we are an excellent school to work at and will support you to achieve your full potential.

We are looking for:

– The ability to teach all three Sciences at KS3 and KS4.

– An outstanding teacher with excellent subject knowledge.

– A practitioner who is keen to enthuse students of all abilities using a variety of approaches.

– A willingness to use data to drive student performance and promote excellence.

– This role could incorporate teaching of A Level Science (subject dependent on suitable candidate)

Teacher of Spanish (with French) 1 FTE – Start 7th January 2019, fixed term until 31st July 2019 (Maternity Cover)

Required from 7th January 2019 to join an established and successful team, an inspirational teacher of Modern Foreign Languages with the ability to teach French to a basic level at KS3 and Spanish at KS3 and 4. The ability to teach Spanish at GCSE is essential.  The successful candidate will be responsible for Years 10 and 11 Spanish classes amongst others.

We welcome applications from NQTs as well as experienced teachers.

Teacher of Drama 0.4 FTE working Thursdays & Fridays – Start 28th January 2019 (or as soon as possible thereafter) – Permanent

We are looking for:

  • An outstanding teacher with the ability to teach Drama at KS3, 4 & 5 with excellent subject knowledge.
  • A practitioner who will work to support the successful extra-curricular programme already in place.
  • A candidate with experience of teaching and assessing writing on theatrical analysis.

Teacher of Maths 0.6 FTE – Start January 2019, Fixed term until 31st August 2019.

We have a dynamic and forward looking Maths Department and require a 0.6 FTE Teacher of Maths for a fixed term contract until 31st August 2019.  The team has six full-time teachers and a well-equipped suite of rooms. At Post 16 we offer OCR Maths and Further Maths AS and A2.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach across Year 7 to 11 and the whole ability range.  An ability to use ICT in the classroom in a creative way would be an advantage, and working as part of a team is essential.  Applications from experienced teachers and NQTs are welcome.

Counsellor (Female) 8 Hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

Required from January 2019 (or sooner if possible), a female counsellor, qualified to at least Diploma level and preferably a member of BACP, to work with students aged 11-18 in this inclusive, popular Community College.  Experience in working with young people in order to support their well-being is essential, as is the desire to contribute to the wider whole school environment.

HOURS OF WORK: 8 hours per week (Tuesdays and Thursdays) 38 weeks per annum
