Vacancy for 2 Teaching Assistants (16 hours per week)

The Role

We are looking to appoint 2 enthusiastic and self motivated Teaching Assistants to work within a small team, supporting a student with complex needs. The roles are required to start ASAP and are fixed term, to be renewed annually, based on funding for the student.

 

Our Additional Support Department

The SEN team work closely with subject teams, pastoral staff and parents to provide support for students with special learning requirements.

The department liaises with many outside agencies, as necessary, including advisers for the various areas of Special Needs, Health and Social Services. We also have regular meetings with the Traveller Education Service and our Educational Psychologists.

The College works towards the integration of all students with special needs wherever possible while, at the same time, providing the necessary support to enable them to succeed.

 

The post holders will be required to work 16 hours per week (hours to be agreed over 3 or 4 days) within a small team, supporting a student with complex needs. The roles will have a personal care element and will require individuals with patience, a good sense of humour and who shares our ethos of intergration and inclusion for all, in a mainstream setting.

We are looking for:

– An enthusiastic and self-motivated individual

– Someone with a strong interest in SEND Education

– The ability to multi-task and cope with changing priorities is essential

– An organised and methodical approach to tasks

– Good ICT skills and an ability to pick up in-house systems quickly

— Previous experience in a simialr role would be advantagous, however it is not essential as full training will be given for the needs to the student concerned.
