Behaviour Room Co-ordinator – NJC Grade E
1 year fixed term initially
37.5 hours per week / 39 weeks per year
Pastoral care is an acknowledged strength of the school and, whilst behaviour at our most recent Ofsted inspection was judged as good, we believe it can still be better. All staff at the College are responsible for pastoral care. This is led by the Deputy Principal, with specific Pastoral responsibilities.
We have spent a considerable amount of time this year in reviewing all aspects of our provision and particularly our behaviour policy. This is a new position at the school and we are excited about the impact that the successful candidate will have on the lives of our young people and the life of the school.
Managing the Behaviour Room on a daily basis will involve working on your own initiative, with high levels of autonomy. You will be well supported in doing this by a wider team of people, including SLT, Head of Schools and Tutors.
We are looking for someone who, in addition to meeting the criteria in the person specification attached, is equally excited by this new opportunity; someone who is calm under pressure, flexible, with strong organisational skills, a good sense of humour and can work independently, as well as the abilities needed to develop a spirit of teamwork.
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who can act as a role model to students and build relationships quickly, whilst maintaining a professional approach.
To be considered as our new Behaviour Room Co-ordinator you must have:
- Excellent communication skills
- Great empathy and the ability to liaise with vulnerable students
- A resilient personality
- The confidence to handle difficult situations and manage de-escalations
- The ability to liaise with teachers, other members of staff, and parents where required
- Salary of £18,944 – £22,640 (actual salary for contracted hours)
- Free On-Line CPD Package
- Free on-site parking
- Cycle to work scheme
- Company pension scheme
