This message was circulated to all incoming Y7 parents by email on 2nd July, along with the following documents (CVCC Essential Guide linked above):

Y6 Maths Transition Booklet (presentation with audio)

Y6 Maths Transition Booklet (PDF – no audio)

Y6 English Transition Booklet

Home-College agreement – Rights Respecting School

Dear Parents and carers

I hope you and your families are keeping well.

The purpose of this email is to share some more resources with you that will support your child’s transition to Clyst Vale.

Firstly, I have attached a copy of our Essential Guide to Clyst Vale. This contains everything you need to know about life at Clyst Vale, including: uniform, transport, student welfare and curriculum.

Please also find attached some resources from our English and Maths departments. These booklets will help your child prepare for September, but will also help our teachers to get to know their new students better. Please make sure that your child hands any work they have completed to their English and Maths teachers when they start. If you don’t have access to a printer, just get your child to complete the activities on a separate piece of paper.

Finally, you will find attached a copy of our home-school agreement document which needs to be signed and returned. You can sign electronically and return by email (), post (Claire Phillips, Clyst Vale Community College, Station Road, Broadclyst, Exeter, EX5 3AJ) or get your child to give it to their tutor when they start in September.

If you have any queries about the above then please contact myself or Claire Phillips.

Best wishes,

Miss Izzy Matthews

*Message from Miss Matthews (Transition Coordinator) – 18th June 2020*

This message was circulated to all incoming Y7 parents by email on 18th June, along with the Transition Booklet in Word format.

Dear Parents and Carers,

This message is an update about the Clyst Vale Year 6-7 transition process. Unfortunately, due to government guidelines, we cannot hold any form of induction days this year. However, we are going to make transition ‘virtual’ this year. We will be sending out some further information in the post to you, but have also made videos, work packs and virtual tours to share with you.

The first thing we have is a video for you to watch. This was made with help from my fantastic Year 7 Ambassadors who shared their experiences and advice for starting secondary school. Click on the link below to access this:

I have also included a copy of the transition booklet below. This is for your child to complete and bring with them on the first day of school to give to their tutor. It contains activities that will help them to prepare for secondary school and allow their tutors to get to know them better. You can print the booklet if you can or children can type their answers on the word document (to email to tutors later on) or write on a separate piece of paper.

In the next couple of weeks I will contact you again with information about tutor groups. I also have a couple more forms to send to you, along with our essential guide to Clyst Vale.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Best wishes,

Miss Izzy Matthews

Key Stage 2-3 Transition Coordinator
