Congratulations and well done to all the students who made the 2013 Sports Day and Festival on the Field such a great success this year. The hot dry conditions were a stark contrast to last year’s failed attempt to run the event in the rain. The baked surface made it ideal for high jump where records were broken, whilst the surface also meant javelins were snapping on impact! All those students who were involved, from the tug-o-war through to the mountain biking and athletics, represented their tutor group and School with great enthusiasm, determination and sportsmanship. The awards this year went to Hattie Boucher (Sara Wynn Trophy for Effort), Kelsea Purchall (Victrix Ludorum Trophy for Performance), Kieran McGinn (Trevor Green Trophy for Effort) and Andy Holland (Victor Ludorum Trophy for Performance). In its first year the School Trophy for Sports Day and Festival on the Field was won by Red School headed by Mr Forbes.
