Welcome to Clyst Vale, if you are going to be joining us as a student or parent we hope the following information will be helpful.

The person responsible for coordinating your move from Primary to Secondary School is Bridget Adie. You can contact her at

Our Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo) is Val Hudson. If you have a need to contact her, she can be reached at . She liaises directly with the Primary School SENCos regarding pupils with Special Educational Needs.

Open Evening

Come along to our Open Evening to see what CVCC has to offer. This is an evening to investigate all areas of the college and speak to the teachers in their departments. It is an opportunity to see what we are so proud of at CVCC.

The event starts at 6pm in the Hall with an introduction by the Principal, Kevin Bawn.

 

If you are unable to get here for 6pm, this will be repeated at 7pm.

 

Year 6 Pupils Open Week

Your opportunity to visit CVCC during a normal school day, visit lessons, speak to pupils and get a guided tour around the college. We look forward to seeing you there!

Visits to Primary Schools

Bridget Adie (Transition Coordinator) and some Year 7 pupils will visit the Year 6 pupils transferring to CVCC and share some information with them.

End of the Spring Term and the beginning of the Summer Term.
 

Distribution of Information pack

This contains information about our School communication system, school information, uniform & the cashless catering system.
Several of these documents need to be returned to Clyst Vale Community College on the first day of New Intake in July 2018.

Information Packs for Year 6 Students and their Parents/Carers

We will be sending out an information pack for you just before the May half term break.

This pack contains documents for your information and documents which you need to complete and return to the College during the New Intake Days – 5-6 July 2018.

Non-Feeder School Pupils’ Evening

This is for pupils and their parents/carers, who are starting at Clyst Vale in Year 7 in September 2018 from schools outside our catchment. It gives the pupils the opportunity to meet other students in the same position.

This event starts at 5.30pm and will take about an hour.

We will have some of this year’s Year 7 students coming to help, who were all in the same position last year.

A separate letter is sent out, about 2 weeks before the event inviting you to attend.  You can confirm your attendance by emailing Claire Phillips ( *protected email*) or by telephoning on 01392 463919.

New Intake Days

Students will work with their new Tutors and experience life at Clyst Vale

Thursday 5 July & Friday 6 July 2018

Meet in the main hall at 8.50am

Parents’ Evening for Year 6 Students This gives parents the opportunity to meet the tutor responsible for their pastoral care during their time at CVCC and their Head of School. Monday 10 July 2018

 

This starts at 6pm in the Main Hall. You then go to your child’s tutor base to meet with the tutors. After this, there is an opportunity to have a cup of tea or coffee and have a chat with members of staff.
