Met Office Science Camp

met2Seventeen students from Year 7 were once again invited to the Met Office Science Camp this year. The students were split into teams, with each team taking part in a range of different activities. The activities looked at cloud formation, wind direction and its effect on temperature, flooding and freak weather incidents. The students had the chance to look at the super computer, which was spectacularly large. The students then set up camp in one of the meeting rooms for the night.

The next day, the students made a weather forecast for a festival and presented their forecast in front of the green screen. The students were fantastic and got the most out of all of the experiences on offer to them. They were clearly very tired on the second day.

Many thanks to all staff who attended this trip.
