Cambodian Adventure Draws Closer

IMGP4281The time is drawing near for our four intrepid travellers to bid farewell to their friends and family and embark on what will undoubtedly be a life-changing journey to the heart of Cambodia.

Beginning on July 15th, the four week trip will be a challenge. No communication with home, hot humid conditions and a culture vastly different to their own will push our students as never before, but the rewards will be unforgettable. The group will be working on local community projects that will see them helping to construct a school, working with local children and trekking through Cambodian jungle.

The journey, arranged and run by Camps International, is being paid for entirely through the students’ fundraising. Anton Stephan (Y12), Sam Palmer (Y12), Ella Whibley (Y11) and Laura Burchell (Y11) have collectively raised over £3000 each through odd jobs, concerts, cake sales, gardening, sponsored walks and more!

As the departure date draws near and the nerves are setting in, I’m sure you’ll join Clyst Vale in wishing them every success on what is sure to be the trip of a lifetime.

If you would like to make a donation you can do so through the front reception desk. Please mark your envelope clearly with CVCC Cambodia Expedition; cheques to be made payable to Clyst Vale Community College, marked for Cambodia.
